National Patient Safety Campaign
A nationwide public awareness campaign empowering patients and communities with simple, actionable patient-safety practices.
About this program
The National Patient Safety Campaign works to raise public awareness about basic patient-safety practices across Tanzania — from hand hygiene and informed consent to safe referrals and speaking up when care feels unsafe. Through radio, community dialogues, social media, school outreach, and local champions, the campaign translates health-systems guidance into everyday actions people can use at home and in health facilities. By creating consistent public messaging and easy-to-use tools, the campaign helps patients, families, and community health workers recognize risks early and demand safer care.
